Salam 3lekom

i have made some research about the advantages & disadvantages of Macrobiotic .:smiley1:hope u find it useful like i did.

Advantages of the standard macrobiotic diet

The standard macrobiotic diet is well known to most people by now. It is mainly composed of whole grains, vegetables and small amounts of fish, legumes, soups and pickles. Keep in mind this is the macrobiotic diet. Meaning, the application of the macrobiotic philosophy to food and nutrition only. The macrobiotic philosophy is universal and applies to everything in nature and the macrobiotic diet is only the nutritional aspect of this philosophy. The main advantages of the macrobiotic diet are the following:

1. Macrobiotic foods are rich in micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and fiber. These elements facilitate the elimination of toxins from the body. Yang foods like grains speed up the elimination process through the bowels and yin foods like leafy greens speed up the elimination process through the kidneys.

2. Rather than generating toxins in the body during metabolism, Macrobiotic foods help carry toxins out of the body. Remember how whole grains are considered in a macrobiotics a source of clean burning fuel for the body (http://www.tolaymat.com/Skeptics-E.htm). This is opposed to animal products which leave behind much sulfuric and phosphoric acids and waste products that have to be eliminated later from the body.

This has a main advantage when we remember that in macrobiotics, disease is considered really nothing but the long term accumulation of toxins in the body. Therefore, foods that help reduce the amounts of toxins in the body help naturally and gradually cure all acquired diseases.

But applying the standard macrobiotic diet arbitrarily can be dangerous in some cases!
Example: someone with a salmonella poisoning, a food allergy or advanced ulcerative colitis will not tolerate lettuce or even brown rice and will have to rely on a different grain rather than brown rice or whole wheat until he improves. This person will have to follow a modified diet that suits his current state of health until he recovers, only then he can move to the standard macrobiotic diet. The same logic applies to all diseases and all patients. Every person will benefit from staying away from certain foods and eating a little more of certain macrobiotic foods.

There really is a danger in advising everyone regardless of their state of health to follow the standard macrobiotic diet.

Salam Aleikom,

From what i read about macrobiotics I realised that it is close to our Prophet's way of eating, is that true Iffat?

As far as I know, Sayedna Mohammed used to concentrate his meal on whole grain food. My neighbour's mum used to suffer from high blood pressure, high colestrol, and diabetes and when she started following our Prophet's diet it worked with her better than medicine.

I don't believe that we should follow macrobiotics strictly, but I think that we should try to substitute (as much as possible) our daily consumption of carbohydrates with whole grain food because it is muuuuuuch more healthy and lower in calories.

Is anything of what I said is true Iffat?:smiley1::smiley9:

Salam,
Menna

Assalamu Alasikum

Dear Menna, Farah

Thank you for your replies and thank you for your interest in reading about it, It is true that what you said Mennathat our prophet peace be upon him ate less meat and more wholegrain but he never prohibited meat and dairy product, he never advised us to be vegetarians only It is true also what you said we should try to substitute what we consume daily with more healthy7 choices such as whole grains and les red meat and increase vegetable intake

Howver, I believe macrobiotics was propagated in our world by certain people who introduced not only dietary guidelines but also so many lifestyle concepts that are strange from our beliefs and deen especially that if we read about macrobiotics we find it is not only a dietary regimen but a lifestyle.....imported from idol and animalworshippers cultures and .....!!!

I know people believe they follow macrobiotcs so they do not eat meat at all, except fish in rare conditions, they do not consume milk or any dairy products, eat only wholegrain and do not eat some kind of vegetables for example eggplant, tomatoes and potatoes because they say it is yen or whatever (male and femla, hot and cold ) types of food that might harm the body and cause cancer particularly

...........Also these people consume seaweeds, sushi and many strange kinds of japanese food that are new to our culture.....

...............Also those people drink soya milk which either they get from the market or they make their own soymilk from soybeans

1st. jak Iffat 4 educating us about microbiotics, actually i don't have that much of info about microbiotics and u can say i'm ignorat in microbiotics but when i listen to Mariam Noor i feel that microbiotics makes sense in terms of nutrition habits, nutrition education, and taking care of spirit as we do 4 our bodys specially the stomach, but i fully agree with Ayman in what he has said, subhana allah as if he is sitting in my head he said i i wanted to say, it is that we have to lkisten to Mariam Noor in microbiotics only , cuz what i've noticed is that she mixes(deleberatly or not) between religions, i mean she says Islam is like Christanity(the existing one) like jewdism like bodism etc..... i understand this as floating of deep meanings of Islam as if she wants to say to all people get off ur religion and be just believers, and as Ayman has said she is not in a stand allow her to discuss such deep issues she is allowed like anybody else to ttalk in her area of specialization microbiotics i mean.

Yallah Iffat waiting 4 microbiotics eposoides fromon hadeer, and wish to concentrate on the best regiems 4 people who r going to get marry soon, i'll ask Aalia to call u soon:smiley36:.

salam

Thank you Manar for you reply

By the way it is called macrobiotics

An important tip for you Manar,

I will not advise you about any diet because youshould loose weight (as it is supposed to happen because you are in love and Alia is away)

However, if you donot loose weight dring this period your chances will become minimal in loosing weight in the future because your Alia will be excited to show you all her recipes at the begining of the marriage and she will try to reach to your heart with (samn Hamwi) and so the result will be very awful so make use of the engagement periodright now and loose weight.

My advice:

Eat less:smiley2:

Exercise more:smiley32:

when you feel hungry think of Alia:smiley4:.................................:smi ley19:

Iffat

SALAM

Manar!! I want action not only words so try to loose weight, I will be waiting from you a report on your weight weekly what do you think???

NOW back to our main topic here what about macrobiotics????

I will give you my opinion in this regard

I don't believe in macrobiotics at all especially when it is presented by Mariam noor as I feel she is propagating more than dietary concepts

I believe i Islamic healthy lifestyle which shares some of the concepts of macrobiotics such as consuming grains, wholesome food However, I am totally against the saying that we should not drink mild and dairy products as it increases cancer because it is totally against the teachings of prophet Muhammad PBUH and the Quran that says (يخرج من بطونها لبن سائغ شرابه)This is not my words , these are the words of Dr Alqudsi that milk is purified inside the animal body before it is milked out so whatever the animal is eating milk will be coming out pure according to the verse

SO let us follow our Islamic teachings on health instead of corrupt ideas that mix between diet and religion to propagateUnislamic concepts

IslamI believe that this kind of diet mix teachings from different religions on diet

So my believe is say no Macrobiotic and eat and drink from what is pure and wholesome (طيبات ما رزقنا الله) Try to eat organic food, decrease meat intake, increase fruit and vegetable intake, use food and drink of the Quran and Sunnah( زيتزن /خضار وفاكهة ولحم طير/عنب/عسل/تمر/ماء/تين/زيتزن/زيت زيتون/خل/ رمان/ حليب/بقوليات/قثاء وبصل/يقطين/grapes/dates/honey/fig/pomegranate/onion/grains/c ucumber/pumpkin/olives and olive oil/water/milk/vinegar/fruits/vegetables

iffat

Ma-shaAllah Great so you studied the issue and reached results Wow great Effort and jazakum Allah khairan for your efforts in the research
